Nuclear Medicine
Two dual head General Electric SPECT (Single Photon Emission Computerized Tomography) nuclear cameras grace this department along with a fully equipped cardiac stress room. Several area cardiologists utilize Windsong’s Nuclear Stress Lab to perform stress studies on patients. Our Radiologists and certified technicians strive to accommodate physician’s needs.
In addition to nuclear imaging, we perform several nuclear procedures. These include Thyroid therapy for Graves Disease or other thyroid conditions. We also provide Quadremet therapy for pain management in patients with bone metastase, and radioimmuninotherapy for Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Somatostatin-type receptor binding peptide radiopharmaceuticals are approved for the detection of neuroendocrine tumors. Octreoscan is utilized for the rapid detection and localization of neuroendocrine tumors, primary or metastatic, which are often missed by conventional imaging.
Same day appointments are available for emergencies. Results are faxed upon request. Our direct line for Nuclear Medicine Appointments is (716) 631-2590.
