Windsong Radiology Group Adds Advanced CT scanner offering faster and more accurate diagnosis:

Windsong Radiology Group FEATURES NEW SIEMENS SOMATOM® Sensation for better diagnosis and more patient comfort.

May 25, 2005 – Windsong Radiology Group will be adding the SOMATOM Sensation scanner from Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. to their 55 Spindrift Dr, Williamsville, NY location.  This 64 Slice CT scanner is over 120 times faster than a conventional CT scanner, allowing scans with much higher resolution for more accurate and early diagnosis.  It is the first installation of its kind for an outpatient center in Western New York.

This new SOMATOM CT provides the finest image quality while reducing X-ray dose to the patient. Its innovative design provides optimal patient comfort by eliminating the closed-in feeling which patients sometimes associate with CT scanning.  “The speed and accuracy of this scanner will allow us to do things we never thought possible, such as scanning a patient from head to toe in seconds.” said Thomas Summers, M.D. “With special equipment, we will be able to scan the heart and image the coronary arteries as well, if not better than angiography, without the risk of stroke, heart attack or death associated with conventional angiography. Overall, it allows us to provide optimal patient care in a patient friendly environment.”
