Trocaire College Announces 2005 Reflections Awards Recipients

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  

 BUFFALO, N.Y., September 28, 2005 - Dr. Paul B. Hurley, Jr., President of Trocaire College, has announced that the Board of Trustees has selected Mr. James E. Biddle, President, Mader Construction Group, Maestro Marylouise Nanna, Music Director of the Ars Nova Musicians Chamber Orchestra, and Dr. Janet Sung and Mr. John Sung, Principals of Windsong Radiology Group, to be the 2005 recipients of the College’s Annual Reflections Award.

 The Reflections Award was established in 1992 to be awarded annually by the College to individuals who have continually reflected their best, putting forth unlimited energies to achieve success while sharing their unique talents for the benefit of others.  The award will be presented at the College’s 34th Annual Trustees’ Scholarship Reception on Thursday, October 20, 2005 in The Terrance Room in the Statler Towers.

 James E. Biddle is the owner of Mader Construction Group, a premier interior subcontractor serving the Western New York region for over 25 years.  Mader Construction Group has developed projects for Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, the City of Jamestown’s new ice arena, the Cleveland Hill School District, and the Seneca Niagara Casino.  Throughout his career, Mr. Biddle has devoted much of his efforts in community-based services and is currently serving on the Board of Trustees of the Catholic Health System, St. Joseph Hospital Foundation, and Baker Victory Services.  He recently served as co-chair of the highly successful Heart Center Campaign for the Catholic Health System.

Maestro Marylouise Nanna, Music Director of the Ars Nova Musicians Chamber Orchestra, is renowned locally for her musical talents which have led to a multi-faceted career brimming with honors.  Maestro Nanna has the distinction of being the first woman to conduct the National Symphony Orchestra of Washington, D.C.  She is the founder of the Ars Nova Musicians who originated the famous Viva Vivaldi Music Festival. Recently Maestro Nanna, and the Ars Nova Musicians, have been officially honored as a Buffalo Cultural Treasure.

Dr. Janet Sung and John Sung established the Windsong Radiology Group in 1987.  Dr. Sung heads up the medical side and John Sung the business side.  The Windsong Radiology Group is now recognized as the second largest free standing diagnostic imaging center in America.  Since arriving in Buffalo in 1977, Dr. Sung and John have been highly committed to Western New York.  They are both active leaders in the community and have received numerous recognition awards, most recently the 2005 Business First Beta Award for a Minority/Women-Owned Business.
