Dr. Anna Chen Appears on AM Buffalo

Dr. Anna Chen, Windsong Radiology Group physician and radiologist specializing in Women’s Imaging appeared on AM Buffalo on Friday, November 27th to discuss the new controversial mammography guidelines released by the USPSTF on November 18th.  AM Buffalo is hosted by Linda Pellegrino of WKBW-TV Channel 7 on weekdays at 10:00 AM.

Appearing with Dr. Chen was Jackie Mordaunt, Executive Director of the Western New York Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure http://www.komenwny.org/  and Mary Montani a breast cancer survivor.  Dr. Chen, Jackie, and Mary questioned the new recommendations presented because they will lead to many women under 50 years old not being afforded the opportunity to detect breast cancer before it is found in a much more advanced state.  This also does not make sense given the fact that screening mammography is an effective tool in prevention and early detection of breast cancer.
