We have been successfully using steroid injections to help patients with lumbar and thoracic spine pain resistant to conservative management at the Windsong Spindrift Drive office in Williamsville.

The procedures are performed by Windsong Radiology Group Fellowship Trained Neuroradiologist, Igor Mikityansky, M.D.

Types of Injections:

  • Epidural
  • Facet
  • Sacroiliac joint
  • Interspinous injections
  • Foraminal nerve blocks

 Guidance:

  • X-ray
  • CT

Anesthesia:

  • Local anesthesia
  • Oral sedation is available

Needed Imaging for Spinal Injections:

  • MRI is preferred to select appropriate type and level of injections.

Patient Instructions:

Patients are asked to stop blood thinners and other medications affecting coagulation (ibuprofen, motrin, naprosyn, etc.) for approximately 5 days prior to procedure.

The doctor performs a free assessment on the day of the injection and reviews the images. The injection plan is then discussed with the patient.

Every patient is monitored for 30-60 minutes after the procedure.
